The last few months have brought us regular continuing professional development for facilitators and a few more allies (Welcome!), but mostly they have been a fallow time for the HPA.
We adopted our new name and purpose a year ago, and over the Winter, Spring, and Summer we created our Manifesto together, created a web site, launched new programs, and tripled in size. Frankly, for the last few months our coordinating team (Michelle and I) have been burnt out.
One thing I have not mentioned is the rich set of conversations about strategy which has run alongside all our other work, lead by various members of our top circle and by other allies. These strategy conversations have offered us a range of possible directions: more than we could possibly achieve!
Our next steps as an alliance are clear: we need to choose among the many attractive options for developing the alliance over the coming year, and we need to carefully match our strategic priorities to the energy available from the engaged allies who are making all of this possible.
If you have an idea for a course you would like to teach, an event you would like to organize, a conversation you would like to host, or a service you would like to offer to your HPA allies, please get in touch. Whatever strategic direction we choose, this alliance is about you and me and all of us helping each other make the world a better place.
Also, if you would like to volunteer to keep the Alliance going and growing, please let us know! Event hosts, admin volunteers, web designers, teachers: there’s plenty of room for more contribution.
And if you value what you experience here and want to make it possible for us to do more, please consider contributing financially. There are donate buttons on the website on most pages; any contribution is welcome and if you contribute what you would be paid for a day’s work that will be just as meaningful as contributing a day of your time.
In any case you can expect us to come back to you with more information about strategic directions for the coming year. If you want to be part of setting those directions you can fill in the feedback form in this newsletter or you can reach out directly. Welcome to the Healthy Power Alliance’s second year!
